MSME:

MSME stands for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. MSME contributes around 45% of India’s total internal industrial employment, hence it is the backbone of a country’s economy. There are multiple businesses including service businesses, manufacturing, and trading business in a country. However, the government has not considered covering all the businesses under MSME.

Shop Act:

Every state has its own Shop and Establishment Act (“Act”). However, the general provisions of the Act are the same in all states. The Shop and Establishment Act is regulated by the Labour Department of the respective states. The Act regulates all the shops and commercial establishments operating within the state. The respective states issue the registrations under the Act, and thus it slightly differs from one state to another state. 

Food License:

  • A disclosure form declaring all features stated are true.
  • An authorization letter to apply for an FSSAI Central License.
  • If you own a food factory or bases, business papers are required.
  • In case the office premises is leased property, a model of the rent agreement is required.
  • Additionally, a self-declared copy of the Food Safety Management System Plan.
  • A copy of the electric power and water bill of the business community.
  • Moreover, a copy of the Aadhar card of the owner or manager of the company.

SSI:

SSI Registration or Small Scale Industry Registration is a registration from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Once a business obtains SSI registration, the business becomes eligible for a number of schemes and subsidies promoted by the Government to boost small businesses in India.

PF & ESI Registration:

Registration of EPF and ESIC now comes under central labour act towards an initiative of Ease of Doing business. EPF and ESIC registration process is completely online without requirement of submission of any physical application documents either before the registration or after it. EPF and ESIC registration can be taken either combinedly or Separately in government portal shramsuvidha. w.e.f. 15th February 2020, EPF and ESIC registration comes as default with incorporation of a new company in India. However the previously registered companies shall follow same process of registration. If employees agreed, an employer can take voluntary registration even though no. of employees working are below the limit of 20/10 in EPF/ESIC.
